What was the Kefauver case?

Although Irwing Klaw’s photos weren’t pornographic the Senate had started analyze it’s obscenity and that was started by Estes Kefauver in 1955. It was a pretty big scandal. ( ” She never shows her tits”- as one of her fellow said ) They caught Bettie but can’t confute anything to her. The government gave a fee for Klaw and his company and they destroy many of his negatives. There was a benefactor behind the scenes- Paula Klaw and she saved lots of negatives and photos (of Bettie of course) thanks to God!

Who was Bettie’s ideal who gave her inspiration?

Her favorite actress was Bette Davis and her favorite model was one of her fellow and Klaw’s model, June King. As a little girl, Bettie and her sisters had played filmstars with make-ups and posing like they. This was a really important point for her later creative poses. There were many other people and things she liked as Lucy Lawless in the role of Xena with her energy and nowadays models like Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford.

Bettie and art?

Bettie gave and gives tons of impressions for many and many artists like Olivia (de Berardinis), Robert Blue and Dave Stevens. There was/are three big subjects: the bondage fetish topic by Robert Blue, the fantasy erotic and beautiful attitudes by Olivia in lots of imagined situations and the cute comic figure by Dave Stevens in the Rocketeer magazine where she was the protagonist.
