Olivia de Berardinis, today’s pin-up artist legend

Olivia de Berardinis was born in 1948, California but she spent her childhood in the east coast.
Her father Sante de Berardinis was a freelancer airplane engineer and that’s why the family have to move time to time. Olivia was only child and she had spent many times with drawing. Her playful mothr was her favorite model too.
In order to her interest and talent to draw she started to attend in the New York School of Visual Arts in 1967 and the next following years got occassional works-that was important for the rent too. This wasn’t an easy situation but she was enduring and continued painting-as usual with oil-and started to show her works for the audience. In 1974 was another financial difficulity and she need to do commercial works.
Her technical skills were/are amazing and have big experience on drawing, painting so she started painting beautiful women in soft binding books. Her works also appeared in men’s magazines but this was a short time and the subject was the erotic fantasy. In 1975 she met and married with Joe Berenn and found a small publisher firm. They made postcards and cards with Olivia’s works and founded an another firm called Ozone Productions. This presents Olivia’s works only.
In 1984 she met Robert and Tamara Bane and made her first publisher agreement. She make more than 200 limited edition works since then then opened the Tamara Bane Gallery in 1987, Los Angeles where her works were the most featured. One year later she moved to Los Angeles with Joel and still living there.

Olivia’s style and works mixing several styles. The classic pinup school characteristics and the actual age’s characteristics, and fantasy elements too. With the fantasy elements we can see relationship with Boris Valleyo for example because of the poses but never resembling the two another talented minds!
