Zoe Mozert - Pin-up and pin-up artist
Zoe Mozert is a famous pin-up artist and a curiosity, because she was a woman and many times she was the model of herself.
She made this with tricks or with camera and this is methods are another curiosities because many of the artists work with models to do their artworks. She done more than showing the sexy girl cliche to represent various characters, personalities in her works.
She was born as Alice Adelaide Moser and got the name Zoe Mozert because she thought her name wasn’t sounds good and Zoe Mozert was a better signo in her paintings with better typography and look. She started as an illustrator at the classic Howard Pyle school and her real carreer started in 1932 in New York City where she made movie posters, covers of the movie magazines and she made 2 covers per week in the following 4 years. She made a contract with Bigelow and Brown in the 1940s and started to made calendars and nudes. (click on the pictures for full size images)
